Guitar Fort Worth, in addition to providing a concert series, works to serve the community in several ways.

Guitar Orchestra

Guitar Fort Worth reaches out to the community with the healing guitar network of professional and amateur performers who volunteer their time and talent to bring music to those in need – from rest home to halfway houses. This network is centered around the Guitar Orchestra Fort Worth. The Guitar Orchestra Fort Worth is a community guitar orchestra, made up of amateurs musicians who share a love of music and fellowship. Our aim is to bring forth the beauty of classical guitar music to the general public in an ensemble format. The orchestra was founded in October 2002 by a group of guitarist with a desire to fill a musical void in the community.

Educational Programs

Guitar Fort Worth fosters guitar education several ways. We provide instruments and instruction to several public schools for free, giving students who would otherwise not be able to learn guitar a chance to do so. GFW also send all of our visiting concert artists into one or two schools to do a small performance and talk a bit about guitar. This has been a huge inspiration for many young students in Fort Worth. Finally, each artist that visits does a masterclass with local students.
